NATO Chief Reports Four American Soldiers Dead
"Whilst I was speaking, the news came out about four American soldiers who were killed in an incident in Lithuania," Rutte shared with journalists in Warsaw.
He further mentioned that the specifics of the incident, which he described as "terrible news," are still not fully known.
"Our thoughts are with families and loved ones," he continued, expressing condolences.
Previously, the Lithuanian Armed Forces reported that they got information on Tuesday regarding four US soldiers as well as one tracked vehicle missing in a military drill in a region in eastern Lithuania.
In response, both Lithuanian and international troops, along with helicopters, were mobilized to look for the missing personnel.
